Description

Dry, fresh and floral rosé from Touriga Nacional.

Winemaking:
Cartuxa rosé was produced from two plots of Touriga Nacional, planted in the vineyards of the Eugénio de Almeida Foundation. The grapes were harvested manually, then cooled to 14ºC before total destemming and visual selection of the berries. After pressing (gravity loading), only the fraction of must resulting from drainage and low pressure was selected for fermentation in stainless steel vats and barrels – 10% of the batch fermented in used barrels, intensifying the volume and unctuousness. Malolactic fermentation was not carried out. Aged on fine lees for nine months with regular bâtonnage.
