Description
Deep garnet color with a nose strongly marked by notes of spices and a slight vegetal and leathery sensation. The wine is still very young on the palate; it is soft and delicate, with some fruit appearing supported by a certain spiciness. The finish is short/medium but good.
Winemaking:
The vineyards of Colares, cultivated in sandy soil, were saved while phylloxera destroyed vineyards throughout the country. António Bernardino da Silva is one of the oldest producers in the region and has resisted the urban pressure that encroaches on farmland. Striving to maintain the unique character of his wine, this producer is a bastion of one of the world's most prized nectars.
