It represents two percent of the total port production of one year, only top quality grapes are used (A and B). Featuring excellent organoleptic characteristics, they must be very full -bodied and deep. Old ports are aged for a maximum of two and a half years before traffic jam and usually require a minimum period of three to four years before being served and others from ten to thirty years on average aging in the bottle, before reaching what is considered a proper consumption. Rich in color and tannins, showing the best of incredible persistence and aromas of ripe fruits. It has a huge aging and aromatic potential, with floral notes and red fruits. Exceptional body and silky structure of tannins, which leads to a long and lush flavor.
