Description
Our single-varietal wines are unique. Produced by Esporão since the 1990s, they reflect the identity of the different grape varieties in their vineyards of origin. Aragonez is a grape variety of great aromatic elegance, known for producing concentrated wines with good aging potential. Our single-varietal wine comes from one of the first vineyards planted at Herdade do Esporão, in 1980 – the Canto do Zé Cruz vineyard.
VINIFICATION / AGING
In the lagares winery, the grapes begin fermentation in marble lagares, with foot treading, followed by malolactic fermentation in temperature-controlled concrete vats.
One year in 5000-liter French oak vats, followed by aging for at least two years in the bottle.
COLOR: Bright Garnet
AROMA: Intense, with notes of ripe plum, hints of fresh coffee and dark chocolate.
PALATE: Refined and balanced. With an elegant structure that reflects the identity of the grape variety in its vineyard of origin.
