Produced from grapes of one of the oldest national vineyards in Alentejo, this wine expresses the specific characteristics of Badeco's vineyard, the Herdade do Esporão, the caste and the dedication of those who produce it.

AGRICULTURE

Certified vineyards in integrated production mode, where the pruning system is the bilateral Guyot, conducted in ascending vertical monoplane. Manual vintage.

A cold winter with a lot of rainfall, followed by a mild summer with large thermal amplitudes, allowed good maturation performances, which resulted in balanced and intense wines.

Vinification / Internship

Vintage on September 30, 2014. Alcoholic fermentation in marble mills. Malolatic fermentation in concrete concrete followed by 1 year in new French oak barrels.

For 1 year, in new French oak barrels.

More information

He was born in the vineyard of Badeco, in Herdade do Esporão, in 1988 and is probably the oldest vineyard on this caste in Alentejo.

It is a wine produced only in years of exception, resulting from an intense work of experimentation and collaboration between the Herdade do Esporão Herdade and Viticulture teams. Such work is based on the winemaking of small lots of the same caste arising from distinct plots, in which the final objective is to understand and enhance the character of each caste associated with the type of soil and microclimate in which it is installed.

The completion of this continuous testing work of the two teams is substantiated in the launch of these unique wines, characterized by the low production of each variety.

COLOR: Deep, dark red and purple.

AROMA: Blueberry, blackberry and plum aromas; Some violet floral notes with subtle oak toast.

Taste: Dense fruit on the palate; velvety, long, complex and persistent.
