Guru is a living testament to the maturity of the vineyard where this white wine originates, fermented and aged in French oak barrels. The vivacity of the white grape varieties that compose this wine softens with age, and the acidity is balanced by the contribution of the oak. Elegant, with aromas of grapefruit and mineral hints, it will evolve very well over the years. Sophisticated, balanced, with tension. Long, with good texture and an excellent finish.
Guru is considered by the international press to be one of the best Portuguese white wines.
Founded in 2001 by the winemaking couple Sandra Tavares da Silva and Jorge Serôdio Borges, Wine & Soul has invested in and purchased old vineyards and properties in the Pinhão River valley. The couple's objective is to create wines that express the full character of the old vines and indigenous grape varieties of the Douro, seeking a balance between concentration, complexity, and elegance.
