Menin Tinta Roriz

VITICULTURAL YEAR The 2020 viticultural year was characterized by fluctuations in temperature and precipitation, which led to it being characterized as a hot and dry year. With the heavy rainfall recorded during the First World War, there was a high level of fungal disease pressure, which required strict monitoring of each variety and plot. However, the summer was quite hot and dry, leading to faster maturation and producing highly concentrated wines.

VINIFICATION After manual harvesting, the grapes were transported to the winery in boxes with a maximum capacity of 18 kg, thus preserving all their integrity and quality. The different plots of Touriga Franca grapes were harvested according to their ripeness. Afterwards, the grapes passed through a sorting conveyor belt, undergoing destemming and crushing, and were moved by gravity to stainless steel fermentation tanks. Pre-fermentation maceration was carried out at low temperatures ranging from 24 to 48 h, followed by alcoholic fermentation at temperatures between 25-27ºC. Once the alcoholic and malolactic fermentations were complete in stainless steel tanks, the wine was transferred to 225L oak barrels.

TASTING NOTES MENIN Tinta Roriz 2020 is a wine with a very harmonious profile, between wild red fruit (redcurrants, red plum), black cherry, forest fruits and spices from the barrel aging increase the complexity of the set. In the mouth, it stands out as a wine with extreme finesse that is not usually found among its peers.
