Description

Vine: Vine located in the heart of Cima-Corgo, in the parish of Castredo do Douro, on the right bank of the Douro, with sun exposure facing south, the vineyards were planted by monocasta stands between 1991 and 1992.

Winemaking: In 12 Ton stainless steel fermentation vats with temperature control, all the castes were vinified separately, the fermentation temperature averaged 28 °C, fermentation took 10 days, followed by another 5 days of post-fermentative maceration. The wines were stored in vats of small volume.

Maturation: After the alcoholic fermentation ended, a stage in new barrels followed for 18 months, after that time the wine is stabilized, which was followed by bottling and later stage of 12 months in the bottle.

Test results

Color: Closed color, almost black with beautiful violets.

Aroma: Balsamic aromas and notes to very dense black fruits, very well integrated with the stage's own tobacco and vanilla in wood.

Palate: In the mouth it is dense, with tannins very present and a refreshing acidity, typical of its "terroir", but without anything overlapping, in a set of a gentle density. Ends long and persistent.
