This wine comes from a 57 -year -old vineyard located on a north -turned slope with granitic soil, planted with Gouveio, Viosinho, Rabigato and Larinho castes, 600 meters in altitude. It has an intense and bright color with scents of spring flowers and fresh lime. It is round and has good mouth volume, with fine freshness, purity of flavors and excellent balance.
Jorge is the 5th generation of a long lineage of wine producers and wineries. Thus, in 2009, Sandra and Jorge acquired Quinta da Manoella, a property with a story that dates back to 1838.
Quinta da Manoella vineyards are over a hundred years old, flanked by younger vineyards, being able to produce wines with high freshness and delicacy, and with a concentration that makes them quickly recognized as one of the best Douro wines .
Founded in 2001 by the winemaker Sandra Tavares da Silva and Jorge Serôdio Borges, Wine & Soul has invested and bought old vineyards and properties in the Pinhão River Valley.
The couple's objective is to create wines that express all the character of the old vineyards and indigenous castes of the Douro, seeking the balance between concentration, complexity and elegance.
