TASTING NOTES: Bright red in color, dense and opaque. Its aroma is complex, highlighting black fruit, India ink, and spices that dominate the bouquet. On the palate, it is balanced, confirming the fruit with hints of smoke and spice. Smooth and fresh, elegant, with silky tannins and a complex, lingering finish.

VINEYARD The grapes that gave rise to this wine come exclusively from the vineyards of Quinta de Pancas, located in Alenquer. The vineyards are situated in a series of hills and valleys, protected by the Serra de Montejunto mountain range. The climate is Mediterranean with Atlantic influence. The soils are neutral clay-limestone with a fine texture. This Syrah comes from plots 8 and 23 of the property.

VINIFICATION The grapes were harvested on September 1st and 2nd, 2017 and taken to the winery. The grapes were vinified with a short cold maceration with pump-overs. They fermented at a controlled temperature of up to 28ºC for 10 days, with a daily regime of "delestage" and manual pump-overs. Malolactic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks. The wine aged in barrels (50% new) for 15 months, followed by a prolonged period of bottle aging.
