The wines of Quinta do Infantado are produced, aged and bottled at the Quinta, located on the north bank of the Douro River, near Pinhão, in the Gontelho sub-region, long known for the excellence of its vineyards. At the end of the 19th century, the Quinta was acquired by João Lopes Roseira, an ancestor of the current administrators.

Since acquiring the property, the Roseira family has progressively increased the vineyard area and specialized in the production and aging of fine wines. In 1979, they began selling the first Quinta Port wines, reviving a very old tradition that had been lost for over 50 years.

The estate has approximately 23 hectares of vineyards, classified with the highest classification in the Douro Demarcated Region. Using this fact as inspiration, it perfected traditional winemaking techniques in lagares (traditional stone troughs) and, taking advantage of the excellent grapes produced there, created natural Port wines of the highest quality.
