Winemaking:
The Touriga Nacional and Alfrocheiro grape varieties used in this blend were harvested and vinified separately. The harvest was earlier than usual, and therefore the grapes retained good acidity and freshness. They were pressed very gently in a pneumatic press, without crushing or destemming, the must fermenting on the skins in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of around 14ºC-16ºC. Quinta dos Carvalhais Colheita Rosé was bottled after a short aging of 4 months in stainless steel tanks.
Exam notes:
The slightly blushing color of this rosé alludes to the elegance of its aroma: soft notes of wild berries, such as raspberries and blackberries, complemented by wonderfully elegant floral nuances. On the palate, the lively acidity typical of the Dão region lends freshness to the wine. Refined, complex and captivating, a revived fruitiness on the palate invites a long and harmonious finish.
