In 2013, Sónia Martins identified the perfect characteristics in Serra de São Mamede, in Portalegre, to begin producing Alentejo wines with an altitude and distinctive character. In the Serra de São Mamede, through the fusion of schist, clay and granite soils, he managed to produce wines with an enviable minerality, also standing out for the freshness of the altitude. On the Tapada do Coronel property, in old vineyards, the Sericaia Tapada do Coronel edition took shape.
