TRUFA NEGRA is a wine produced with grapes from two vineyard plots located in the Douro Valley, in the Cima Corgo sub-region. The first, in Valença do Douro, is an old vineyard (over 70 years old) with a blend of approximately 30 native grape varieties. It is situated between 300 and 350 meters above sea level and faces north. The second, at the mouth of the Távora River, is about 30 years old and has a blend of grape varieties, predominantly Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz. It is situated between 100 and 150 meters above sea level and faces east.

Winemaking

After careful manual selection on the sorting table, the grapes were destemmed and foot-trodden in granite lagares, then transferred to stainless steel vats where they fermented for a period of 8 days.

Internship

After malolactic fermentation, the wine aged for 17 months in French oak barrels, 10% new and 90% used.

Exam Grade

The aroma is concentrated, with notes of black fruit and spices. On the palate it is full-bodied, with a complex flavor where black fruit stands out, and it has intense but well-integrated tannins that give the wine a long and fresh finish. It is a very gastronomic wine.
