Vineyards: This Douro wine is produced with grapes from a single vineyard in Quinta do Roncão next to the Douro River. This came to a low quota turned to the spring which makes it perfect for an early vintage and dedicated to this caste.

The Francisca ink: Francisca paint is a caste very present in the old Douro vineyards, which has fallen into "forgetting" with the new plantations. The choice of planting this caste in the new vineyards of the Roncão derived from the desire to experience wines with old Douro castes. It has been a fascinating experience to discover the potential of this caste, create a wine with a different style than usual, aromatically very attractive, medium structure, elegant but great intensity. 

Vinification: The year 2020 was fantastic for the production of this wine in the Douro. This was the first year in which we bottled this caste. In order to make a different wine, with a traditional Douro caste, we chose to make a separate fermentation with little intervention. In turn it was stored in stainless steel vats and bottled by 2021.
