A traditional Hayman's Sloe gin, made by macerating sloes in Hayman's gin before blending with natural sugar. Bittersweet and intense in flavor.
The original Hayman Distillers company was founded in 1820 and acquired in 1863 by James Burrough, the great grandfather of the current Chairman, Christopher Hayman. Famous for its Beefeater Gin, the Burrough Distillery quickly prospered. In the early 1900s, new generations entered the family business, establishing new milestones along the way, most notably Eric Burrough, who sold the first shipment of Beefeater to the USA in 1917. Having built the distillery into one of the world's leading gin producers, Eric passed away in 1970. His cousins Alan and Norman continued to develop the business, moving it to larger premises in Montford Place, Kennington, in 1958, where he still resides today. Interestingly, all the gins created use the same line of botanicals, with the recipes changing from gin to gin to enhance particular flavors and different intensities in the botanicals.
