The story of Quinta do Isaac seems like a dream, and that is exactly how it began, gradually becoming reality.
Isaac Paiva, a businessman based in Switzerland but in love with his country, met Luís Lopes, a man of the Douro and the land, in 1994, and shared with him the dream of one day producing a Douro wine. To this end, he challenged his friend — a profound connoisseur of the region's best terroirs — to find a small property capable of producing excellent wines with their own personality and identity, and thus achieve the authentic expression of their terroir through the practice of organic farming.
Since then, and after a careful selection, in 2012 he acquired a small property of 1.36 hectares, right in the center of the region, in Chanceleiros do Douro, next to Pinhão. It has magnificent conditions for viticulture – low altitude, southern exposure and schist soils.
Excellence, commitment and passion are the three pillars on which we build our future.
Equal to itself and faithful to its purpose, Quinta do Isaac has created its own personality, culture, philosophy and concept.

In ancient soils supported by schist walls, stone upon stone, the life and evolution of “old vineyards” is sustained, worked manually as if caressing a bonsai in each vine. The aim is to take advantage of the balance between biodiversity and the environment, optimizing natural resources, in terms of flora and fauna, and eliminating the use of synthetic products, enhancing the quality of the grapes in a natural way. This is a new attitude with an eye on the future – Organic Production Method – producing for the benefit of the land, products and people.
