Altano Reserva Tinto

 Deep red color. Intense and complex aromas to flowers and mature blackberry, chocolate and spices. In the mouth it is round and full -bodied. Large and well balanced with long and persistent mouth end.

Vinification:
Altane Reserve is produced exclusively with Touriga Nacional grapes, harvested in the vineyard of the Symington family, Quinta do Ataíde, located in the beautiful and isolated Valley of Village (Douro Superior, Portugal). Touriga Nacional is the main caste planted in Quinta do Ataíde, it represents 24% of the 82 hectares of vineyard (203 acres), becoming one of the largest plantations of this caste in the Douro, widely recognized caste as the most emblematic in Portugal. The vineyard was planted in the late 1970s/early 1980s and the vineyards are now in ideal maturity, allowing the production of very thin wines that express the distinctive character of the national (fragrant and violet aromas; blackberries) and also the terroir of the village. The grapes were manually harvested in small, shallow containers and selected manually very carefully. Fermented in stainless steel vats (capacities of 9 and 15 tons) with temperature control (between 26 and 28ºC) and prolonged maceration by reassembly. 12 -month internship in 400L American oak barrels.
