Description

Natural red wines are wines resulting from the use of organic or biodynamic grapes and more primitive methods for their production. This includes cultivation without the use of fertilizers or chemicals, colheita that prioritizes manual processes, and fermentation that occurs spontaneously without the use of preservatives.

It expresses the character and elegance of the land where it was born. Granite enveloped in fruit, revealing elegant floral notes and sensations of aromatic herbs and pine forest with aeration. Great depth, fresh and flavorful on the palate, tannins of great finesse. Granitic finish, with great presence. The Dão Serra da Estrela at its finest.

There are many small plots where there is a great mix of grape varieties, with Jaen, Baga and Tinta Amarela standing out in the reds, and Bical, Fernão Pires, Siria, Cerceal and Arinto in the whites. This characteristic composition of old vines in this area is very different from the choices made in modern Dão vineyards, so the profile of the producer's wines leads us to what Dão wines were like a few decades ago.

The vineyards are worked in a natural way, employing practices that strengthen the ecosystem's balance, and the winemaking process is low-intervention, with spontaneous fermentations, minimal technology, and no added oenological products, all done precisely and carefully. The result is wines that are less aromatic, with forest floor expressions, and a fine tannin structure that requires some bottle aging to reveal their expressiveness and naturalness, a Dão region that is being revived.
