2019 was the earliest colheita on record, following a dry winter, moderate spring rains, and a dry, harsh summer. However, there were no diseases and little need for treatments. The lack of water led to very rapid ripening and an early colheita (mid-August). High-quality grapes, wines with intense color, high alcohol content, and balanced acidity.
Gentle pressing of the grapes and fermentation at controlled temperature. The Maria Gomes variety ages in stainless steel vats for 9 months. The remaining varieties age in second-year French oak barrels for 9 months, with weekly bâtonnage.
