Description

Winemaking:
In the Quinta da Leda cellar, Barca-Velha is produced mainly with grapes from this farm, in addition to elevated areas of the Upper Douro. After de-engining and gentle crushing, the grapes fermented in stainless steel vats, with long, mild steeping to extract essential compounds. The wine interaged in French oak barrels for approximately 18 months. The selection of the best wines, carried out throughout this period, is crucial to the quality of Barca-Velha. To preserve excellence, the wine underwent filtration only before bottling.

Test results:
Its color is deep ruby. Very complex aroma, where spices such as pepper, balsamic notes, cedar and tobacco box stand out, red fruits such as ripe plum, slate and a high quality and well integrated wood. In the mouth it has a vibrant acidity, very lively, very firm tannins, notes of spices, black fruits and balsamic aromas. The finish is extremely long, of great elegance and complexity.
