Description

Barroca da Malhada BRQA+ red wine is a blend of Trincadeira, Aragonez, Touriga Nacional, Baga, and Alicante Bouschet grapes, vinified using traditional methods, with manual colheita , spontaneous fermentation, and minimal cellar intervention. It ages for 20 months in stainless steel tanks, Portuguese oak barrels, and amphorae, giving it greater depth and complexity. It presents a deep ruby color with brownish hues. The aroma reveals intensity and balsamic character, with notes of ripe fruit and an enveloping quality marked by the different aging processes. On the palate, it is full-bodied, maintaining freshness and elegance, with a balanced and persistent finish.

Barroca da Malhada is a producer of artisanal wines from the Beira Interior region, originating from a historic estate dating back to the Middle Ages and which belonged to the Viscounts of Tinalhas. With approximately five hectares of vineyards cultivated organically and using biodynamic practices, they work with schist-sandy soils of granitic origin, in one of the most mountainous territories of Portugal. The wines reflect a low-intervention approach, prioritizing authenticity, freshness, and expression of the place.
