Description

Barroca da Malhada Dolia red wine is a blend of Baga and Touriga Nacional grapes, colheita manually, with spontaneous fermentation and minimal cellar intervention. The wine ages entirely in amphorae, with skin maceration for one month, followed by an additional seven months of liquid aging in the same container. It presents an intense ruby-violet color. The aroma reveals great depth, with notes of ripe black fruit, balsamic nuances, and a marked earthy character. On the palate, it is structured, full-bodied, and expressive, with well-integrated tannins and excellent coherence between nose and palate, in a very happy combination of youthfulness and elegance.

Barroca da Malhada is a producer of artisanal wines from the Beira Interior region, originating from a historic estate dating back to the Middle Ages and which belonged to the Viscounts of Tinalhas. With approximately five hectares of vineyards cultivated organically and using biodynamic practices, they work with schist-sandy soils of granitic origin, in one of the most mountainous territories of Portugal. The wines reflect a low-intervention approach, prioritizing authenticity, freshness, and expression of the place.
