The grapes that gave rise to this wine were vinified together. My goal was to harvest the various grape varieties from different plots at the time I felt would yield the best results for producing a wine meant for aging. Highly concentrated and very fresh, the blend resulted in a very complex aroma where notes of oak aging harmoniously combine, adding complexity to the whole, along with spices, dark fruits, licorice, and violets in perfect harmony. Complexity, a very concentrated and structured aroma.
Winemaking:
Mixed grapes grown in the vineyard, predominantly Mourisco and Tinta Roriz, with small amounts of Borrão, Tinta Amarela, and Rufete. Grapes harvested by hand. Natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts in cement vats. Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.
