Description
Description
Borges wines
Founded in 1884, by brothers António and Francisco, the Borges Vinhos Society early became one of the main national wine companies. Recognizing that only by excellence can Portuguese wines affirm themselves in the world, Borges has always bet on the quality of their production, today exported to more than fifty countries of five continents.
A complex and elaborate wine that mirrors the experience of over 135 years of Borges.
Borges Reserva Douro Red 2021 represents a consistent year, characterized by highly favorable weather conditions for the healthy development of vineyards and gradual maturity. This resulted in balanced wines, with excellent volume, intense concentration of color and aromas with a persistent character.
Vinification: Total grape disgust followed by soft crushing. Part of the lot is initially vinified by the traditional method of pisa on foot, ending the stainless steel bowl fermentation, and the remaining batch is vinified only in stainless steel bowl. In both vinifications, a brief pre-fermentation maceration is performed, followed by 6-8-day fermentation at controlled temperature 28-30ºC with relatively frequent reassemblies. After alcoholic fermentation is made a period of maceration after which the wine from the masses with which it fermented is separated. All wine in the French oak barrels for 18 months.
Bottling: processed in inert atmosphere with total bottle deoxigence.
Visual Like: Intense Ruby -colored clear.
Olfactory aspect: Wine with intense and complex aroma, marked by a burst of red fruit in jam, with the presence of cedar notes that provide a feeling of freshness, perfectly integrated with smoked wood nuances and vanilla from the internship in barrels.
Gustative Like: In the mouth it is a bulky wine, featuring mature and soft tannins. The ending is long and persistent with excellent acidity to give a lot of freshness.
