Chão da Portela Touriga Nacional

The criteria for choosing the name was simple: we wanted a name linked to the Agricultural Society that we had just created and, of course, to the family history. And so CHÃO DA PORTELA came into being, the name of the first farm to be bought by the great-grandfather of the current generation in 1880. A small farm at altitude, with transitional soil and grapes from the Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinto Cão varieties. These grapes, in the first years of harvest, before and after the Agricultural Society was established, allowed the brand to always come in first or second place in many highly prestigious national competitions.

The image of CHÃO DA PORTELA wines is, and will always be, a sober and conservative image, with classic labels and the simplicity of lines of Burgundy bottles. A classic image in tune with the elegance of the wine it gives its name to.
