Description

Clarete Barroca da Malhada Baga is made from the Baga grape variety, with manual colheita , spontaneous fermentation, and minimal cellar intervention. It ages in stainless steel tanks and second-use Portuguese chestnut barrels. Without added sulfites, it uses chestnut flower powder as a natural alternative with preservative and antioxidant properties. It has a translucent red color. The aroma reveals notes of raspberry jam, mint, and a delicate earthy character. On the palate, it is fresh and balanced, with vibrant red fruit, a succulent texture, and a very authentic expression.

Barroca da Malhada is a producer of artisanal wines from the Beira Interior region, originating from a historic estate dating back to the Middle Ages and which belonged to the Viscounts of Tinalhas. With approximately five hectares of vineyards cultivated organically and using biodynamic practices, they work with schist-sandy soils of granitic origin, in one of the most mountainous territories of Portugal. The wines reflect a low-intervention approach, prioritizing authenticity, freshness, and expression of the place.
