The Dona Paterna winery, owned by Carlos Alberto Codesso, is located in Quinta da Carvalheira, in the center of the parish of Paderne, close to the town of Melgaço. The Codesso family has been producing Alvarinho grapes since 1974, having started its own production and bottling in 1990, under the Dona Paterna brand.
Carlos Codesso has 15.5 hectares of Alvarinho vineyard, on land of granite origin, with a gentle slope and facing south, to obtain better sun exposure and thus benefit its maturation.
