Exuberant aromas of blackberries and blackcurrants with a vibrant fragrance of rosehip. On the palate it is intense and powerful, simultaneously silky and vibrant. It reveals layers of concentration – all balanced by a beam of acidity and textured tannins. The long finish highlights the drier touch typical of Dow's.
Winemaking:
In the good years when Dow's doesn't 'declare' a Vintage, the best Quinta do Bomfim Port wines are carefully selected and bottled as Dow's Quinta do Bomfim Vintage. These wines are exceptionally good. They tend to mature a little earlier than the rare 'Declared' years, but can be as good as some other Vintage Ports. The high percentage of Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional planted on the estate results in the powerful aromas of mint and violets in the best Bomfim Port wines. Bomfim wines are vinified in the estate's fermentation vats, which have been successively improved over the years and continue to produce excellent wines.
