Winemaking:
Favaios is a sweet Moscatel wine made from Moscatel grapes, intended for consumption before and after meals. Although it can maintain its qualities for several years after bottling, this wine is meant for immediate consumption. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature (23ºC to 25ºC) for about two days, with intense skin contact. It is then interrupted by the addition of brandy, resulting in a wine with high levels of alcohol and residual sugars. It is then aged for at least two years in oak tanks and stainless steel containers before being sold.
Clear with bright golden hues. It has a distinct aroma typical of the variety, with some notes of orange and honey. The flavor is glycerin-like, with a sweetness reminiscent of honey and jam.
