FERREIRA GELPIMA WHITE PORTO
FERREIRA GELPIMA WHITE PORTO
Description

Black, opaque in color. Aroma of great complexity and intensity, with dried black fruits such as plum and fig. It reveals balsamic notes of heather and undergrowth, notes of licorice, cocoa and chocolate, the result of excellent maturation. On the palate it is dense, full-bodied, with well-integrated acidity presenting notes of milk chocolate with cherry and a finish of great longevity and complexity.

Winemaking:
Made from grapes from the Caêdo and Porto estates using traditional Port wine technology. After grape selection, crushing, and destemming, a very intense maceration follows during the alcoholic fermentation period, foot-drunk in temperature-controlled granite lagares (traditional stone vats). The balance and harmony of this Vintage, as well as its body and structure, are achieved through grape selection, maceration intensity, and the timing of fermentation cessation. After the harvest, the wine remains in the Douro Valley, undergoing its first racking during the winter and being transported to Vila Nova de Gaia the following spring. Here begins the usual Port wine aging process in oak barrels. During this period, the wines are subject to sorting, analysis, and tastings, allowing their aging to be monitored. The final blend is obtained after careful selection of the wines, in the persistent pursuit of the highest quality.
