Description
William Grant fulfils a lifelong ambition and begins building his own distillery with the help of his nine children and a single stonemason. He names it Glenfiddich, Gaelic for Valley of the Deer. After a year of hard labour, the first drop of spirit falls from the copper stills on Christmas Day 1887. It is then, in 1887, that Glenfiddich begins producing its own whisky and creates, to this day, a history of constant innovation and success in the world of whisky.
