The Glenrothes Distillery begins with the story of two remarkable men: James Stuart, who had the first vision of building a new distillery in the town of Rothes, and Reverend William Sharp, who raised the funds needed to save the distillery from ruin and helped turn James Stuart's dream into reality.

With James Stuart's vision and a philosophy of slow, careful whisky-making, Glenrothes has continued to build its reputation in the world of whisky, and to this day is recognised for its excellent quality.
