Description

In 1956, the American company Publicker Industries of Philadelphia created a blended Scotch whisky called Inver House Rare. Publicker Industries established Inver House Distillers Ltd in 1964. A whisky distilling complex was acquired in Airdrie in March 1964 to help meet demand. Mr S.S. Neuman, president of Publicker Industries, passed away, and the company shifted its focus away from Scotch whisky production, leading to the closure of the Airdrie distilleries.
