Herdade de São Miguel The Friends Collection is a red wine produced in special years and always in collaboration with a close friend of Casa Relvas. In 2017, it was Nicola Fagotto's turn.
Produced from the Alicante Bouschet, Trincadeira and Touriga Nacional grape varieties, the blend was created by Nicola, who selected the best barrels of the year.
Aged for 24 months in French oak barrels, this is a red wine that presents an intense garnet color, with an austere aroma of forest fruits and balsamic notes. It reveals an excellent tannin structure and balance, culminating in a complex, elegant and persistent finish.
Casa Relvas is a family project, started in 1997 in São Miguel de Machede, Redondo, by Alexandre Relvas, aiming to continue the history of five generations with a strong passion for the Alentejo region and its genuine nature. Over the years, the family has grown alongside the business, and it wasn't long before it now encompasses approximately 750 hectares of cork oak forest, 225 hectares of olive groves, and 350 hectares of vineyards, all under integrated production.
With its three estates - Herdade de São Miguel, Herdade da Pimenta and Herdade de São Miguel de Machede - Casa Relvas has the capacity to produce 6 million bottles of wine annually, 70% of which are to meet the needs of the foreign market, being present in more than 30 countries worldwide, offering the best of the Alentejo region.
