Marquês de Borba Vineyards Velhas Red
Description

Marquês De Borba Vinhas Velhas Tinto is an Alentejo wine with an intense garnet color, a nose with a high concentration of black fruits, eucalyptus leaf, and some spice notes from barrel aging. It has great volume on the palate with velvety tannins.

One of João Portugal Ramos' most emblematic brands, Marquês de Borba combines the tradition of the Alentejo region with exceptional quality, evident since the brand's first colheita in 1997. The name arises from the fortunate coincidence that João Portugal Ramos' vineyards and winery are located in the Borba sub-region, and that an uncle held the noble title of Marquis of Borba, a title created in 1811. The limited-edition Vinhas Velhas range is the most recent addition to the Marquês de Borba brand and is produced from the oldest vines, planted around the family home in the 1980s, near Estremoz Castle. In other words, this wine comes from vines between 30 and 40 years old.
