With a deep red color, the wine presents aromas of cherry and black plums, combined with licorice. On the palate it is full-bodied, with firm and well-structured tannins, but wonderfully well-aged. It is a wine of great complexity and intensity, with striking flavors and aromas. It has an aging potential of several decades.
Winemaking:
The grapes, sourced from our organically grown vineyards, are crushed in a lagar (traditional stone trough) and fermented with 100% of the stems for about two days, at which point brandy is added to complete the fermentation. This is obtained by blending wines from two or three colheitas of Vintage quality and bottled after 3 years of aging in large oak vats. As the name suggests, after a few years in the bottle, a deposit (crust) forms on the bottle wall.
