Maynard's Vintage 2019

This wine has an opaque appearance and a deep purple color. Aromas of sultanas, dark plums, heather, and flavors of licorice, cocoa, and chocolate. On the palate, it is silky, well-structured, rich in tannins, with a freshness very well combined with sweetness, finishing extremely long and harmonious.

Winemaking:
The grapes, at their ideal ripeness, are harvested manually and stored in a cold chamber for 12 hours to preserve their characteristics. This is followed by partial destemming and crushing in a lagar (traditional stone trough), where intense maceration occurs before and during alcoholic fermentation, with pumping over to enhance skin extraction. Grape brandy is added to the fermentation when the desired sugar content is reached, resulting in a fortified wine. This Port wine ages in oak vats in the Douro Valley. This wine has not undergone any stabilization process, so a natural sediment may form in the bottle.
