Description
The Sossega Agricultural Society, owner of Monte do Pintor, was established in 1991 and its main objective is the production and marketing of wines. In 1995, it began marketing a regional Alentejo wine under the Monte do Pintor brand. The vineyards are located on gentle south-facing slopes in soils defined by a distinct terroir . The grape varieties predominate, including the traditional Alentejo red grapes Trincadeira and Aragonez, as well as Castelão, Alfrocheiro, Tinta Caiada, Alicante, and Moreto, and the white grape varieties Verdelho, Arinto, and Antão Vaz.
