Description
VINIFICATION: The 2017 viticultural year is characterized by a dry winter, with rainfall well below the average of the last 30 years, and a hot and dry spring, with heat waves until the end of June. With the increase in average temperatures and the lack of precipitation, the vine showed an advance in phenology of about 15 days from budbreak to Pintor. The summer continued with high temperatures and low precipitation, leading to an early, intense and short harvest.

The grapes for Bastardo were deposited with 100% stems in stainless steel vats in a maceration process that lasted about two weeks. Once this phase of the process was completed, the wine was pressed and began its malolactic fermentation in old wooden barrels, remaining in the aging process for about 20 months.

TASTING NOTES: Very bright and open red color, it shows a very fine and delicate aroma. It is fresh, full of wild aromas and good vegetable notes very typical of the variety, but also of fermentation with stalks. In the mouth, although very marked by red fruit, it has a good balance, with very light and polished tannins, it becomes vibrant thanks to a well-defined acidity. Of low concentration, Bastardo 2017 is a very fresh wine, with a rustic profile, reminiscent of old-fashioned wines. Very long and precise aftertaste. An extremely flexible wine to any type of dish. It is recommended to drink chilled (12/14ºC) and in a Burgundy glass.
