WINEMAKING
The 2019 vintage was characterized by a dry climate. Spring began with high temperatures, which decreased and remained low throughout the summer. There was some rainfall, which occurred at the right time for plant development, and flowering took place in excellent weather conditions, resulting in a medium to high yield of very healthy grapes. The mild days and cool nights of August resulted in slow and balanced ripening. The harvest began on August 8th. The peak of the harvest occurred during the week of September 8th to 15th, ending on October 1st. The grapes, with 100% stems, were placed in stainless steel vats with automatic foot presses, in a process with short maceration. After this phase, the wine began its malolactic fermentation in old wooden barrels, remaining in aging for about 22 months.
TASTING NOTES The Redoma Tinto 2019 reflects all the elegance, structure, and acidity that only a region as vast as the Douro can express. The color is ruby, concentrated, and when swirled in the glass, violet hues appear. The nose is delicate, with floral notes, red fruits like cherry, menthol nuances, and a smokiness that gives it complexity and character. On the palate, it is full-bodied, round and spicy, precise and extremely balanced. It finishes long with a persistent acidity that gives it longevity.
