Nipoort Redoma Red

VINIFICATION

The 2019 viticultural year was characterized by a dry climate. Spring began with high temperatures, which gradually decreased and remained low throughout the summer. There was some precipitation, which occurred at the right time for the plant's development and flowering took place in excellent weather conditions, resulting in medium to high production, with grapes quite healthy. The mild days and cool nights of August gave rise to slow and balanced maturation. The Harvest started on the 8th of August. The harvest peak occurred in the week of September 8th to 15th, ending on October 1st. The grapes, with 100% stems, were deposited in a stainless steel press with automatic treaders, in a process with short maceration. Once this phase was completed, the wine began its malolactic fermentation in old wooden barrels, remaining in the aging process for about 22 months.

TASTING NOTES Redoma Red 2019 reflects all the elegance, structure and acidity that only a region the size of the Douro can express. The color is ruby, concentrated and when stirred in the glass, violet hints appear. The nose is delicate, with floral notes, red fruits such as cherries, menthol nuances and a smoke that gives it complexity and character. In the mouth it has volume, it is round and spicy, precise and extremely balanced. It finishes long and with an acidity that persists and gives it longevity.
