Oban 2025 Special Release 12 Year Old

When brothers Hugh and John Stevenson landed on the edge of the Hebrides in 1793, they found little more than a natural harbour and a windswept landscape. In this setting, they founded the Oban Brewing Company, beginning production of the notable 'Cowbell Ale'. The following year, they ventured into whisky distilling. The enterprise remained under the Stevenson family's control for three generations, until it was acquired by local merchant Peter Cumpstie in 1830. The year 1880 marked a turning point with the arrival of the railway in Oban, ushering in a new era of improved communication and transport. Today, Oban stands out as one of Scotland's smallest and most distinctive whisky distilleries.
