Pequeno Joao Malhadinha Red

Pequeno Joao Malhadinha Tinto wine is an Alentejo wine made from a single grape variety. It has a youthful aroma.

Pequeno João wine, still quite young in aroma, presents a deep color that already reveals a very complex bouquet of ripe black and blue fruit, notes of spice and high-quality oak. On the palate, it is a small diamond in the rough, with vigorous but tamed tannins, maintaining a fruity yet serious character, and a very long finish.

Grapes harvested manually into 12kg boxes and carefully selected at the sorting table. Fermentation took place in a lagar (traditional stone trough) at a controlled temperature with several foot treadings throughout the process. Aged for 12 months in new French oak barrels.
Everything revolves around gravity and detail. The smallest detail that forms the basis for crafting great wines.
At Herdade da Malhadinha Nova, nothing is done by chance. Built from scratch in 2003, the winery, deliberately nestled into uneven terrain, takes advantage of the natural slope for the winemaking process.
