This wine is made from selected wines that are aged in oak casks for 3 to 4 years. This process allows the wines to acquire their smoothness and elegance. They are then blended in a balanced way to maintain the style.
For many, Taylor's is the most illustrious producer of Port wines, and drinking their wines is the most sublime of experiences.
Founded over three centuries ago, in 1692, Taylor's is one of the oldest Port wine trading houses dedicated exclusively to the production of Port wine and, especially, its finest styles.
Above all, Taylor's is an independent company in which some family members play leadership roles in all areas of activity. The company's long and uninterrupted family tradition has allowed for continuity and clarity of mission, both essential attributes of any great Port wine house. It has also allowed for the refinement of the skills and knowledge necessary to produce the finest Ports, which are constantly refined in light of the experience passed down from generation to generation.
Taylor's is also respected as a producer of wood-aged Port wines and holds one of the largest reserves of rare cask-aged wines, most notably its distinctive aged Tawny Ports. The house is also known as the creator of LBV (Late Bottled Vintage), a style the company pioneered and continues to produce.
Successive generations, with their experience, have strived to refine their knowledge and ability to produce ever better Port wines.
Based in Porto and the Douro region, the company is involved in all stages of its Port wine production, from planting the vines and cultivating the grapes to the elaboration, aging, and bottling of the wine batches. The family's commitment to the future of Port wine is demonstrated in its dedication to achieving the highest standards in Port wine production, its sustained investment in all areas of the company's operation, and finally, its determination to preserve the unique environment of the Douro region through the promotion of sustainable and responsible viticulture.
