Description

Ruby red color. with aromatic intensity dominated by mature blueberry and balsamic notes. In the mouth it is very elegant, full of structure, persistent and with round tannins.

The Water Vitivinemal Company Vinhos, Lda., Headquartered in Balsa do Douro, Tabuaço municipality, produced and markets wines for four generations, having an authentic, modern and charismatic portfolio. Fernando Costa, young winemaker and son of owner Manuel da Costa, brings with him innovation, technical-scientific knowledge and the desire to continue the family legacy, thus projecting a future of excellence for Quinta da Carregosa.

After a selection and manual vintage, the grapes are subjected to crushing and total deceival. There is a 24-hour pre-fermentation period of 30ºC to maximize the action of the enzymes responsible for the extraction of color and aroma. Then selected yeasts are used for induction of alcoholic fermentation that runs between 22ºC and 24ºC for a minimum of 10 days. Malolactic fermentation is induced with temperature control.
