Ruby red color. With aromatic intensity dominated by mature blueberry and balsamic notes. In the mouth it is very elegant, full of structure, persistent and with round tannins.
The wine company Carregosa Vinhos, Lda., based in Balsa do Douro, Tabuaço, has been producing and selling wines for four generations, having an authentic, modern and charismatic portfolio. Fernando Costa, a young winemaker and son of the owner Manuel da Costa, brings with him innovation, technical-scientific knowledge and the desire to continue the family legacy, thus projecting a future of excellence for Quinta da Carregosa.
After a selection and careful manual harvest, the grapes are subjected to crushing and total defusing. A 24-hour period of pre-fermentative maceration at 30 °C follows to maximize the actuation of the enzymes responsible for color and aroma extraction. Selected yeasts are then used to induce alcoholic fermentation between 22 °C and 24 °C for a minimum of 10 days. Malolactic fermentation is induced with temperature control.
