Exordium is vinified in traditional amphorae with 1.5 months of skin contact, stirring twice a month, and aging on the lees until the summer of 2025. It is unfiltered, has no added sulfites, and is naturally protected with chestnut blossom – a method developed by Goucho's grandfather. The soil is clayey, the vineyard is located at an altitude of 400 meters in Bouça-Chã, and the grape is 100% Arinto. The result is a structured, deeply mineral and vibrant wine, with high acidity (8.7 g/L), low alcohol content (11%), and a fresh and intense character.
Exordium 2024 is also a visionary orange wine and an artistic project where wine and music merge into a sensory narrative. Created by winemaker and composer João Goucho, Exordium combines biodynamic Arinto with a original musical work which sonically interprets the entire winemaking process – from fermentation to bottling.
