Quinta da Pedra Escrita Reserva Red 1.5 L

Intense and fresh aroma, notes of violets, bergamot and black fruits in balance with complex notes of French oak barrel resulting from malolactic fermentation and one year of aging. On the palate, the freshness and acidity identify the origin of the grapes; elegant and structured, this wine suggests a long life in the bottle.

Winemaking:
Organically grown, dry-farmed grapes from Quinta da Pedra Escrita, located in Freixo de Numão, in the Douro Superior region, at an average altitude of 575 meters. The dry and arid soils are 100% granitic, very sandy and poor in nutrients. We replanted the farm because we believe that granite soils give rise to wines with extremely complex aromas and great longevity, as in the past, with very concentrated grapes and low productivity. Manual harvesting into small perforated boxes. Destemming and crushing, cold maceration, alcoholic fermentation for two weeks, malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels. Aged for one year in 300-liter French oak barrels.
