Quinta de Carvalhais Duque de Viseu Branco

Vinification:
The grapes of the allowed castes were received at the Quinta dos Carvalhais cellar in small boxes. The must, duly protected from oxidation through the use of inert gases, underwent low temperature static decantation over a 24 -hour period to reach the required grade. Subsequently, they were sent to stainless steel tubs with temperature control, where selected yeasts were added, and fermented for about 20 days at temperatures not exceeding 16ºC. The maturation took place in 225 -liter French oak barrels, with varying degrees of use, over a period of about 30 months, during which any intervention was avoided. From there, the wines of the different barrels were proven one by one, being only the best selected for the elaboration of the final lot.

TEST NOTES:
It has an attractive gold-yellow shade. Its aromas have a striking complexity, being even more elaborated by the notes of dry fruits, green pear, white fruits and some vanilla, in addition to a reminiscent component of fresh vegetables that gives it freshness. In the mouth it has a strong attack, with a well -balanced lively acidity that gives it a lot of liveliness. It is a very appealing, dense, aromatic wine with a very long ending.

Storage advice and serve:
The large white castes of Dão, as well as the long stage in barrels, give the Quinta dos Carvalhals harvesting a great potential for bottle evolution. The Quinta dos Carvalhais bottles selected should be stored horizontally, in a cool, dry place. Once opened, it should be consumed immediately, although 2 to 3 days can be preserved in the refrigerator, as long as it is well listed.
