Duque de Viseu Branco 2021 is a very attractive and elegant wine, full of vivacity – one of the leading references of the Dão region for over a decade. Duque de Viseu is produced at Quinta dos Carvalhais, the Sogrape Vinhos project that spearheaded the renewal of the Dão region and is now its specialist brand, with a range of quality wines and a distinctive style that reflect the elegance and diversity of the region. After destemming and gentle crushing, the must, properly protected from oxidation, underwent static decantation at low temperature for 24 hours to achieve the desired clarity. The different grape varieties that gave rise to this wine were then vinified separately in stainless steel tanks with a controlled temperature of 16ºC, with fermentation taking place over 20 days. 80% of the final blend of Duque de Viseu Branco ages for 4 months in stainless steel tanks, and the remaining 20% ages in French oak barrels for the same period. After the aging period, the batch is made and the wine is bottled.
