Description
Deep ruby color. Very expressive on the nose, with aromas of ripe red fruits, notes of cocoa and fresh floral notes. A very elegant and charming start that leads to a wine of compact structure. Great volume, fine texture and silky tannins. The finish is mineral, fresh and long.
Winemaking:
The grapes, sourced from the best Tinta Roriz plots at Quinta do Crasto, were transported to the winery in 22 kg plastic crates, where they were rigorously inspected on a sorting table. The grapes were first foot-trodden in a traditional stone vat (“lagar”) and then transferred to an open stainless steel tank where the lid was pressed down using robotic pistons. Fermentation took place over 10 days in a strictly temperature-controlled environment. Aged for 16 months in new French oak barrels (225 liters).
